Today in class we finished the book Fences. The ending of the book took a turn none excepted. The ending of this book consisted of the family gathering and attending Troy’s funeral. As they get ready to go to the funeral Cory reveals shocking news saying that he will not be at his father’s funeral due to him wanting to release his fathers shadow from him. Finishing the book took no longer than the beginning of class. As we got back from lunch to finish the period we presented our one page analysis. That is what we did in class today.

 In class today we had started the beginning of the end of the book. What we read today was pretty much the climax. With people popcorn reading we had went through the most interesting part of the book pretty quickly. But what we read about was that Troy finally admitted to having an affair with Alberta. Not only that but he ended up getting her pregnant also. But as she has the baby Alberta passes away. Leaving Troy to absolutely take care of the baby, as him and Rose go through their slump. As time goes by Troy and Cory have an altercation and Troy kicks Cory out of the house and is going to leave his stuff on the other side of the fence.

 In class today we finally got to watch the movie “Fences” starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis. We didn’t get to watch the whole movie due to not ready the whole book. But from what we read in class so far is what we watch on the film. I was actually surprised that ever single line from the book was copied and pasted into the movie. To finish the class we answer the analytic questions 9-19 to sum up what we determined about the film so far. That is what we did in class today.

 In class today we read more about the book fences. What the book was talking about was that Troy had won a case against the commissioner’s office and had been given a promotion. We read more of the book throughout the beginning of the class until lunch. When we came back from lunch we took a quiz about characterization. Once we finished, to end the class we went over the quiz together. 

  This is the bellringer from class today. In class today we also talked about the term steal. Not steal in a literal sense, you know as taking something not yours. But as what we use to identify a character. The S in steal stands for speech, T stands for thoughts, E stands for effects on others, A stands for actions, and last but not least L stands for looks (physical). That was what we did in class today. 

 In class today we talked about what it means to be a man. We came up with numerous ideas. Some of the ideas that we had came up with was that a man is supposed to take care of his family. Another one was a man is supposed to be able to protect his family. But what I came up with was a man is supposed to be morally stable and be able to provide for his family. That is what we talked about in class today.

  This is my one page analysis of the story “The rockpile”.

  When coning back from war, I have heard that once you go to war you don’t back the same. For example being in the military requires a lot of time of absence. While being absent from your family, you wife, your kids, its hard to regain a relationship. With past experiences in a veterans life, from what i’ve seen its causes server PTSD. With that it comes of over protectiveness, anxiety, and overall fear of the world. Back to what I was saying for your children them seeing you go through that disease makes them worried.
